Mayor's Music and Entertainment Series
Riverfront Park will be hopping this summer--Monday nights feature an entertainment series in the outdoor amphitheater.
Local entertainers, musicians, theater groups, and more may apply to perform. The City has waived the regular permit fees for this series, although a Park Use Permit & Agreement must be approved for all selected entertainers. Visit the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department in City Hall for a performer packet.

Who
|
|
Local entertainers, musicians, theater groups, etc. The Mayor’s Riverfront Park Music and Entertainment Series shall feature one individual/group per date. Multiple performances will not be scheduled. Groups may perform once per season unless concert dates remain open and unfilled.

Set-Up/ Take Down
|
|
All move-in, set-up, performance, and take-down activities shall occur between 4:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Any variation in this schedule must be noted on the Park Use Permit & Agreement and approved by the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department.

|
Performance Time
|
|
The mayor's Riverfront Park Music and Entertainment Series shall start at 6:00 p.m. and be advertised as such. Any variation in this schedule must be noted on the Park Use Permit & Agreement and approved by the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department. |

Register by contacting the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department at 503-588-6261. All dates are scheduled on a first-come basis. |

Permits
|
|
The City of Salem has waived the Park Use and Noise Variance Permit fees for the Mayor’s Riverfront Park Music and Entertainment Series. A completed and approved Park Use Permit & Agreement must be maintained on-site during park use. |

Park Use Rules
|
|
The permit holder for the Mayor’s Riverfront Park Music and Entertainment Series shall comply with the requirements listed in the Riverfront Park Administrative Rules and Regulations. These rules can be viewed at online and are also available at the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services office at 555 Liberty Street SE, room 300, in the Civic Center of downtown Salem. |

Scheduling
|
|
Scheduling entertainment for the Mayor’s Riverfront Park Music and Entertainment Series is on a first-come basis. Contact the City of Salem Parks, Recreation, and Community Services office at 503-588-6261 to schedule.

Permit Required
|
|
A Park Use Permit & Agreement shall be completed, in advance, for each park use.
|
|
|
|
Fees
|
|
The City of Salem will waive the Park Use and Noise Variance Permit fees for the Mayor’s Riverfront Park Music and Entertainment Series participants. Depending on the scope of the concert/event, additional permits and associated fees may be necessary. As well, the City reserves the right to charge for actual costs incurred for any City of Salem services to each concert.

|
Time
|
|
The approved use begins at 4:30 p.m. and concludes at 9:30 p.m. Any deviation from these times requires written and prior approval of the City of Salem Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department. The five-hour block includes time for move-in, set-up, performance, and take-down.

|
|
Noise Variance
|
|
A Class A Noise Variance Permit shall be completed when using amplified sound. Amplified sound shall not exceed 100 decibels at the house sound.
|
|
|
|
Electrical Service
|
|
Electrical service is provided as a part of the permit. It is the responsibility of the permittee to determine electrical service needs prior to move-in. It is the responsibility of the permittee to distribute the electrical service from the ground vaults.
|
|
|
|
Irrigation
|
|
The Riverfront Park irrigation system begins the watering cycle at approximately 10:00 p.m. nightly. Please make every effort to be clear of the amphitheater by 10:00 p.m.
|
|
|
|
Garbage and Litter
|
|
It is the City’s expectation that the permittee be responsible for the collection of garbage and litter following each park use. Garbage and litter receptacles shall be provided.
|
|
|
|
Vehicles
|
|
Event support vehicles may access the amphitheater on paved pathways to unload and load items. When not in use, all vehicles will be moved to the parking lot. Driving in the park during event hours is prohibited.
|
|
|
|
Concessions
|
|
Food, beverage, and/or non-food item concessions are prohibited during the Mayor’s Riverfront Park Music and Entertainment Series.

|
|

To contact City of Salem Parks Maintenance after hours, call the Public Works Dispatch Center at 503-588-6333. To contact the Salem Police Department, call 503-588-6123 (non-emergency). For all emergencies, call 911.

|
Production
|
|
All production items (e.g., sound equipment, lights, canopies, etc.) are the responsibility of the permittee.
|
