Spring Youth Soccer

This program is offered to boys and girls, age 3 through 8th grade, looking to play for fun in a safe, outdoor environment. Participants' soccer skills will improve as their knowledge of the game increases. The cost is $28 per child. Fee waivers are available to qualified Salem residents.

Classes meet every Saturday, April 5 through May 10. Locations and times to be determined.  

 

4th-8th Grades Important Information

If you have not heard from a coach by Friday, March 21, call 503-588-6261. Practices can begin Monday, March 24, if the team has been assigned a coach. Games are Saturdays, April 5 through May 17.

All Ages - Equipment

What equipment does my child need?
  • For safety reasons, jewelry is not allowed (i.e. earrings, watches, necklaces, rings).
  • Tennis shoes or regular soccer cleats. Football or basefall cleats will not be allowed.
  • For 5th grade and under: Size 4 soccer ball
  • For 6th grade and up: Size 5 soccer ball
  • Soccer ball should be visibly marked with the participant's last name and brought to all practices, classes, and games.
  • Shinguards are required for all participants in grades 2 and up. Shinguards are highly recommended for first grade and under.

Team Formation

 

Team Formation takes place immediately following final registration. Program participants are placed on teams formed by school and grade level, and matched with volunteer coaches. Teams are then scheduled into recreational leagues based on middle school areas.
