Senior Center Computer ClassesComputer Learning CenterIn the last decade, people of all ages have become regular Internet users, logging on to read the news, shop, make travel plans, and keep up with family and friends through email. Learn more about how you can join in on the fun and excitement. The SeniorNet Learning Center at the Salem Senior Center is reaching out to seniors in the Salem area with an invitation to "come see what is possible at SeniorNet". All classes are taught by dedicated volunteer instructors and coaches. The instructors and coaches strive to present the class material in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Even if you have no computer skills, the beginning classes can teach you tasks necessary to operate a computer and use common Windows-based computer programs. In addition to the computer classes, the Learning Center also provides open lab times where you can come in and use the computers to practice your lessons (if you are taking classes), browse the Internet, send and receive e-mail, write your letters or any other computer tasks you may need to do. There are ten computers in the computer lab which are available on a first-come first-served basis. The lab also has printers which allow you to print out your documents, as needed, and a scanner you can use to scan your documents and pictures into the computer. You do need to join SeniorNet if you wish to use the computer lab.
