Marilyn Daily, Director
Welcome to the Salem Senior Center!
The City of Salem Senior Center stands as an outstanding example of government partnering with our community's individuals, businesses, institutions, and service providers to fulfill a distinctive purpose for older adult citizens and their families. Since its opening in 1976, the Center has been a highly visible, community-based, multipurpose senior center that promotes health, independence, and well-being to adults 50 years and older. Thanks to our over 300 volunteers, the Center is able to offer several hundred different programs and services that meet a variety of interests and needs. The Senior Center's dedicated volunteers are what makes the City of Salem Senior Center unique and so successful.
I am quite proud to serve on the Senior Center "team" as the Center's Director. Since I accepted the position in May 1999, I have been privileged to work alongside great people, both users and volunteers, who are filled with energy, enthusiasm, and tremendous generosity. I hope that, as you browse our website, you are able to sense the Center's warm and inviting atmosphere and the uniqueness of the individuals who make the Center a "home away from home" to thousands each year. We certainly pride ourselves on being more than just a building. We like to think of ourselves as "family", here for you in times of need, growth, change, laughter, and celebration!
The staff at the Salem Senior Center again want to thank our volunteers and patrons for their ongoing support and enthusiasm. It is a joy to work at the Senior Center surrounded by people that are energetic and take an active role in our day-to-day operations and our future planning. I look forward to seeing you soon at your Salem Senior Center. For more information or to schedule a building/program tour, call 503-588-6303.

Bill Storzum, Custodian
I like to work with and around the Senior Center, to talk with and listen to stories from seniors. I enjoy watching them in their activities and come away feeling good. I set up programs and reset programs for the Center. At times I get involved with some of the Center's programs.
My daughter, Alison, enjoys coming to the Senior Center and she thinks the seniors are all her grandmas and grandpas. She enjoys her visits and loves to help out here at the Center.
