Salem Youth Advisory Commission

Youth Day at City Hall

Each year, members of the Salem Youth Advisory Commission meet with the Mayor, visit various departments, and attend the City Council meeting. If you'd like more information about the activities for Youth Day at City Hall, contact us.

Applications

The Commission is accepting applications from both youth and adults interested in serving on this advisory body. Whenever an application is submitted, the applicant is invited to attend a Commission meeting and participate in a short interview. The Commission forwards its recommendations to the Mayor, who appoints each new Commissioner. Youth appointments are given priority; they serve for a two-year term. Adults must represent a system that serves local youth, and they serve a one-year term.

You can download a copy of the application; although you can't submit it online, you may mail it to us at the address below. To request an application be mailed to you, or to request other information about the Commission, contact us.
