Tour Salem Water System

Where does Salem’s drinking water come from, and how does it get to customers’ homes and businesses? Follow the water drops!

Salem's water system serves customers daily from the North Santiam River Watershed. The total population served today is 170,000. Salem sells 6 percent of its drinking water to three wholesale customers that serve nearby communities: Suburban East Salem Water District, Orchard Heights Water Association, and the City of Turner.
