Lancaster Drive NE and Market Street NE Intersection Right-turn Lanes Construction

Work is scheduled to begin Monday, August 27, 2007, in the intersection of Lancaster Drive NE and Market Street NE.

This construction will add a right-turn lane from southbound Lancaster Drive NE to westbound Market Street NE and from westbound Market Street NE to northbound Lancaster Drive NE (see attached map ). Additionally, existing traffic signal poles will be relocated to accommodate these changes to the intersection.

Contractor work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The contractor will maintain two-way traffic on Lancaster Drive NE and Market Street NE at all times with single lane closures where two thru-lanes exist in one direction. These lane closures will be allowed between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The closures are necessary to complete certain construction activities. Portions of the traffic signal relocation work, requiring the signal to be turned off, will be performed at night between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. During the traffic signal shutdown period, flaggers will be present to control traffic flow. Work is scheduled to be complete by mid-November.

If access to individual driveways needs to be restricted for short periods to complete certain work tasks, owners will be notified a minimum of 48 hours in advance. It is not anticipated that there will be a disturbance to services such as mail delivery or waste pick-up.
