Process Support Facilities

Picture of Existing Administration/Lab BuildingThe Process Support Facilities at the Willow Lake Water Pollution Control Facility include the administration, laboratory, and maintenance buildings. The existing administration building, which currently houses the laboratory, operations control center, and plant administrative functions, will be replaced to provide additional office, conference, and administrative support space. Additional office space is needed to provide for staff required during and after the treatment plant expansion projects.

A new environmental testing laboratory will also be constructed as part of this project. The new laboratory will replace the undersized and aging lab facility in the administration building. This laboratory is needed to allow the City to meet more stringent accreditation requirements and the increased testing requirements anticipated as a result of future discharge permit requirements.

HDR Engineering has provided a schematic design for these facilities. This team has considered various siting options, building types, and interior layouts to provide for efficient design, flexibility, and expansion potential in the new facilities. The project is advancing into the final design phase, and is scheduled to be bid in July 2004.
