Stormwater Projects
In April 2000 City staff presented the proposed Stormwater Master Plan for review by the public and City Council. This document presents a comprehensive review and plan for dealing with stormwater run-off and addresses many long-standing problems the City has faced.
The City currently has 1,400 stream grates, five regional detention facilities, and 175 miles of open channels as part of the current stormwater drainage system. A new major factor that the City must address is the recent endangered species listing for salmon and the Endangered Species Act 4(d) rule which will likely require significant changes in how we have managed our streams and creeks.
