Street and Bridge Needs

City of Salem Public Works Department is assessing the satisfaction with and improvement needs to the city's streets and bridges.

Some of the services that need improvement are:

  • Relieving congestion throughout the city
  • Street repair such as paving and pothole patching
  • Widening streets for more travel lanes
  • City bridge repair
  • Bicycle and pedestrian trails
  • Sidewalk repair
  • Street lighting
  • Bicycle lanes and signs
  • Pedestrian crossings
  • River crossing 
  • Traffic signals
  • Addition of new streets
  • Signage and striping of streets
