Natural Reclamation System

Treating Water Wisely

We are drinking and using the same water the dinosaurs did! When we use water, we change its quality and its temperature.

  • Wastewater from our homes, businesses, and industries is treated at the Willow Lake Water Pollution Control Facility and safely returned to the environment to be used again.

  • It is everyone's responsibility to make certain the water is clean for the generations and for the species that follow us.

  • On this website you can find out more about the Salem Demonstration Project Natural Reclamation System and assist Salem to determine whether this technology should be used more extensively in the watershed.

Project Mission

The mission of the NRS project is to demonstrate the use of natural systems as a sustainable method of polishing effluent, improving water quality, and providing reclaimed water supply and management, and to determine whether this technology is appropriate within the Willamette River watershed.
