Mill Creek Urban Renewal Area

Located in southeast Salem - Overview - PDF

The Mill Creek Urban Renewal Area is comprised of relatively flat land, close to Interstate 5.  About 515 acres of the urban renewal area will be developed and approximately 110 acres will be dedicated to wetlands and open space.  The Department of Public Safety Standards and Training and the City of Salem completed new water and sewer lines along Aumsville Road to correct some existing deficiencies and to accommodate the first phase of the Mill Creek Corporate Center.

As the land is sold for industrial development, the City’s tax base will increase and about 5,000 jobs should be brought to the Mill Creek Corporate Center through build-out.  In January, Jones Development purchased 8 acres.  They've started construction of a 52,000 square foot warehouse for Federal Express.

See the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) web site for updates on land sales and requests for proposals or the Strategic Economic Development Corporation (SEDCOR) web site for a brochure.
