The North Gateway Urban Renewal Area is approximately 928 acres, located in the northern portion of Salem. Current activities are focused on stimulating private development and improving traffic circulation in the Area, including rezoning of Fairgrounds Road, selling Agency-owned properties in the Area, encouraging rehabilitation and landscape improvements through use of the revolving loan fund, and the projects identified below.
