Willamette Genealogical Society Annual Scanning Event

Do you have old photographs, letters, newspaper clippings, a diary, a scrapbook or perhaps pages from an old family Bible that you would like to save in digital form? If so, our June meeting program is especially for you.

You don’t need to understand the technology or even the vocabulary. Just show up with the items you want to copy and with a thumb drive, also called a flash drive.

The CZUR scanners accommodate items up to 13x19 inches, books or loose sheets, color or black and white. Multi-page materials can be saved as a single PDF file. The flatbed handles black and white or color – positive or negative, various standard sizes. Don’t forget to bring your USB thumb drives for saving your material!

If you don’t have items to scan, come anyway to chat and watch the busyness as other members and visitors copy their documents for preservation into the digital future.

These WVGS meetings and programs are always open to members and the public. For more information, contact the Willamette Valley Genealogical Society.
