Salem Parks

The pride and joy of any town is the public park system. Salem boasts hidden gems located inside neighborhoods, larger community parks with reservable areas for weddings, reunions, company picnics, and athletic tournaments, plus special event parks for concerts, festivals, movies, and run/walk events. Salem is fortunate to have historical sites and park features not found anywhere this side of the Mississippi. Salem's thriving volunteer base works in tandem, contributing assistance to support these wonderful City resources.

Woodmansee Park is a community park with multiple recreational opportunities. Woodmansee has a combination of soft and hard walking trails, is home to the West Fork of Pringle Creek, and has a significant portion of the park forested with Oregon white oak and Douglas fir trees.

Upon entering the park, to the right is a reservable shelter and small parking lot. A little further into the park, on the same side, is a full-size soccer field with another small parking lot.

Across from the soccer field, on the left, is a covered picnic pad, a small grass play field, ADA parking next to tennis courts (2) which have blended lines for bringing your own nets to play pickleball (4), and a multi-purpose court featuring 2 basketball hoops, a ball wall, and poles for stringing a volleyball net. Just past the multi-purpose court is the 1st tee for the 9-hole disc golf course.

Beyond the soccer field and multi-purpose court is a large parking lot, permanent restrooms, and a playground.

Reservable Areas

Paid reservations have priority over drop-in use.

Soccer Field

Practice is drop in, first-come first-served. When multiple teams are present, teams are expected to safely share the space. Teams should utilize the soccer field first and foremost allowing the smaller grass field for leisure drop in use.

For more information about reserving the soccer field for games, call 503-588-6261.

Disc Golf Course

For more information about reserving the course for tournaments, call 503-588-6261.

Tennis/Pickleball Courts

The rules for play are posted at the entrance to the courts.

Skateboards, bicycles, roller skates, and dogs are not allowed on the courts. Keep in mind, the tennis courts are not made to withstand wheeled activities and are dangerous for dogs as the surface holds more heat than sidewalks.

To reserve the courts for official games or tournaments, call 503-588-6261.

Reservable Park Shelter

The park shelter is enclosed and is opened for reservations. The space has a capacity for 56 people, a counter, and a sink. Restrooms are within walking distance, just west of the soccer field.
