The community is also vulnerable to the effects and impacts of climate change, such as increased high temperatures, changes in precipitation patterns, and wildfires. How can Salem reduce greenhouse gas emissions while increasing our climate resilience? The answer is that it will take a broad set of community-wide strategies and actions.
We need your input as we start working out which ideas to include as strategies in the Salem Climate Action Plan (Plan). Please take our survey to help us understand what strategy ideas are most important to include in the Plan, as well as ones you think are not good ideas. At this phase in the project, we want to better understand community priorities.

The survey will be available through midnight on March 28.
Since starting the Strategy Development stage of the planning process, we have gathered 211 different ideas for climate action in Salem. These ideas come from members of the Salem Climate Action Plan Task Force, community participants in an online brainstorming activity, and subject matter experts. All the submitted ideas are included in the feedback survey, but may have been combined with similar ones or reworded slightly.
It may take some time to complete the survey if you review all the ideas. The good news is that you do not need to complete the survey at once. Starting on the second page, there is an option at the top of the screen to save and continue later using a special link emailed to you.
If you need help completing the survey, please email SalemCAP@cityofsalem.net or call 503-588-6211. Printed materials, accessibility services, or other accommodations for completing the survey will be provided upon request.
