Our River Connects the Community to the Willamette River

Post Date:06/01/2026

The "Our River" campaign is a project to help our community connect with the Willamette River. It is run by the Mid-Willamette Outreach Group (MWOG), which includes the City of Salem, City of Keizer, Marion County, and the Marion Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD). The Willamette River is a beautiful place where people can have fun, see wildlife, and enjoy nature. What we do in the area around the river affects the water quality. The "Our River" campaign wants to help everyone appreciate this important resource.

Goals of the Our River Campaign:

  • Connect people to the Willamette River through fun activities that let them enjoy the water.
  • Make it easy for everyone to join by offering low-cost or free activities and supplies.
  • Help people feel proud of the Willamette River and our community.
  • Give chances to help take care of the river.
