Reflection on the Willamette River

Have you checked out the Willamette River Water Trail? The Willamette River Water Trail is 187 miles and flows the length of the Willamette River through forests, meadows, farms, parks, and cities. This trail is used to connect communities and visitors to the Willamette River and the Willamette Valley. The Willamette River Water Trail is a group of over 200 properties that provide access for paddlers to the Willamette River or offer camping for travelers.

The Willamette River offers beautiful scenery, habitat for wildlife, and recreation opportunities. There are 12 cities along the Willamette River, including Salem, and approximately 50 campsites along it. The Willamette River is the thirteenth largest river in the lower 48 states by flow volume and the Willamette River basin is 11,478 square miles.

You can help protect the Willamette River and keep it a scenic waterway by protecting the nearly 90 miles of streams in Salem that flow directly to the Willamette River. Take the WE Pledge on the Clean Streams website with 10 pledge actions you can take at home to protect waterways.
