Salem, Ore. — On Sunday, September 4, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a caller reported finding a man who appeared to be deceased along the Union Pacific Railroad tracks closest to the intersection of Portland RD at Beach AV NE.

Salem Police patrol officers arrived to find an adult man slumped over on a trail along the tracks. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit responded to investigate the incident and have determined no foul play or criminal act was involved.

An autopsy was completed by the Marion County Medical Examiner’s Office, and all inquiries concerning the cause of death should be directed to their office.

The name of the deceased person is not being released with family notification taking precedence.
