Visit Virtual Public Works Day at Riverfront Park

Join the City of Salem Public Works Department for the 17th Annual Public Works Day at (virtual) Riverfront Park! Learn what the Public Works Department, its employees, and its invaluable partners  do for you and the City of Salem by viewing online booths. We even have a treasure hunt for you!

Public Works provides essential services that impact all Salem residents. Each June, the Salem Public Works Department hosts the Public Works Day event at Riverfront Park to showcase the services that they provide. This year's event, the 17th annual Public Works Day, was canceled to maintain compliance with COVID-19 restrictions so we moved the event online to a virtual Riverfront Park.

Click on booths in the park, scroll through exhibits, and watch videos to learn about the department. You can also participate in a treasure hunt to learn fun facts about Salem. There are so many ways that Salem Public Works affects your life, from providing your drinking water and treating your wastewater; keeping peoples, bikes, and cars moving around the City; providing parks and recreation services as well as volunteer opportunities, and so much more! As always, the event also helps raise funds for the Marion-Polk food share and this year is no different.

We hope that you enjoy this online format of Public Works Day and hope to see you in 2021!
