Apply for the Library’s Teen Advisory Board

The Salem Public Library Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a perfect fit for creative teens who want to gain leadership skills and volunteer hours while improving the Teen Scene area at the library. The TAB is made up of 20 middle- and high-school-aged youth.

A few of the TAB member activities include:

  • Help with teen and children’s programs
  • Raise funds to improve and enhance Teen Scene
  • Read and review Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) of upcoming young adult books

Application process:

  • Fill out and submit your TAB application by Wednesday, August 9, 2017. Download the TAB application and email it to Sonja Somerville or turn the application in at the Teen Scene Ask Here Desk.

  • Board members are chosen after a review of the applications and interviews with Teen Services Librarian Sonja Somerville and a panel of current Teen Advisory Board members.

  • New members begin in September 2017.

The board is particularly interested in applications from middle school students this year.
