Bike theft happens
Each year too many bicycles are reported stolen in our community. Help improve the chances of your bicycle being returned by registering for the Salem Police Department's bicycle registration program.
By registering your bike you are providing necessary information to the Salem Police Department like the serial number and other identifying information. If your bike is stolen this serial number can be entered into the local and national databases which can increase your chances of having your bicycle returned. It also makes it possible to file charges against the person in possession of the bike.
How to register your bicycle
- Complete the
bicycle registration form.
- Submit the form to the Salem Police Department.
- The Salem Police Department will send your durable tag by mail.
- Apply the tag to your bicycle.
