Central Area Neighborhood Development Organization (CANDO)

The Central Area Neighborhood Development Organization (CAN-DO) is the downtown neighborhood association. Here you will find Salem’s Downtown Historic District, tree-lined streets, the Historic Elsinore Theater, shopping malls, and a variety of eateries. It also includes state offices, City Hall, Salem Hospital, and Oregon’s State Capitol.

If you live, work or own property in downtown Salem, you are a member of CANDO. To find out how you can be an active member in our neighborhood, attend a meeting or contact the chair.
