The City of Salem is at work 24 hours a day, providing public safety services, reliable infrastructure and good governance on behalf of its residents.
In the 2019 Community Survey, held in September, those surveyed said they wanted to hear more about what the City is doing.
"The City has a number of ways of communicating with its citizens," said Kathy Ursprung, Community and Media Relations Specialist. "We use a wide range of social media, for example, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Next Door and YouTube. However, the most direct way we communicate to our residents is through our email newsletter, Salem Connection."
Salem Connection includes the most current information from the Salem City Council, updates on City projects, and recurring information on things like road repairs, community events, historic walking tours, crime prevention, and activities in local parks.
The newsletter also includes Fun Facts on the history of Salem, tips on How to be a Good Neighbor, how you can get involved in City government and, most important, how City actions affect you.
