The City has started a project to improve Secor Park and wants to hear from you and other local residents about priorities for the park. What would like to see in the future? Take an online survey and join us for a series of neighborhood meetings.
Secor Park is an approximately 8.5-acre undeveloped neighborhood park located next to Crossler Middle School in south Salem. The park features a lush wooded area, gently sloping grass meadows, and the year-round flow of Waln Creek. A master plan completed in 1995 envisions future park development with paved walking paths, picnic areas, a children's play area, and a multi-use sports court. Other portions of the park are proposed to be left undeveloped.
Due to the age of the master plan, the City would like to 'check-in' with local residents about your priorities for the park. Feedback collected from the survey will be used to prepare initial design concepts for this project.
These concepts will be presented and discussed at a public workshop scheduled for April 3, 2019. Join your neighbors, City staff and the project consultant, Lango Hansen Landscape Architects, for a presentation and discussion of initial design concepts from the park. A second public meeting is scheduled for May 15, 2019.
