This program is designed to help low-income adults in the 50+ age range with home repairs and volunteer labor. If you qualify for the program will not be charged for labor, but will need to supply all materials. The program coordinator will screen your application to identify whether you meet federal eligibility guidelines.
Types of services:
- Repair leaking faucets
- Build risers for chairs, sofas, and beds
- Repair wooden steps
- Repair doors
- Install railings on steps
- Make minor repairs to fences
- Install locks
- Install grab bars
- Minor caulking and weather stripping.
Unfortunately, the group cannot work on rentals, ladders, wheelchair ramps, small appliances, or electrical.
Friendly visitor and caller outreach program
Teams members are called “Friendly Home Callers” and make daily phone calls to homebound seniors. The service is free.
Center 50+ offers two programs to serve caregivers and adults with Alzheimer’s disease.
