Salem Municipal Court Changes Due to COVID-19

Stay home. Stay healthy.  At the City of Salem, we're following the Governor's Executive Order of March 23, 2020 and hope you will too.  To help slow the spread of COVID-19 and reduce opportunities for continued transmission of the virus, we are making changes to some of our programs and services.  Check the City's COVID-19 information center for all City service impacts.

Building status

The Municipal Court lobby is closed to the public.

Please contact the court if you have any questions. If you are represented by an attorney on a court matter please contact your attorney.

Phone: Court staff is still available to assist you during the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.  You may call us at 503-588-6146.  

Email: In addition, you can contact the court by fax at 503-588-6441 or by email at [email protected].  Every attempt will be made to respond to your email within 48 to 72 hours. 

Continuing services 

Those individuals represented by an attorney on a court matter should contact their attorney. All violation and criminal misdemeanor trials scheduled through May are being reset.  Please contact the court regarding your violation or criminal misdemeanor appearance.

The court's website has been updated to allow access to newly created Court Forms and Applications so you can enter a plea on a traffic or parking violation or set the matter for trial at a future date.
