Planning Commission Recommends Approval of Multifamily Housing Design Project

The Planning Commission voted Tuesday to recommend approval of proposed code changes resulting from the Multifamily Housing Design project. The commission's recommendation included seven changes to the proposed code amendment.

Residents Help Shape Preferred Plan for Battle Creek Park

November 20, 2019

Community input has resulted in a preferred plan that balances recreational use with needed flood mitigation and includes flood storage areas, enhanced wetlands, an improved trail system, and new recreational features for the community. You are welcome to review and comment on the plan as we move toward adoption of a final master plan by City Council in late February or early March 2020.

Library Plans Move Forward as Construction Nears

November 18, 2019

Staff at Salem Public Library are packing and planning for the Main Branch closure to complete the Salem Public Library Seismic and Safety Upgrade. The project will mean temporary relocation to the Salem Public Library at Broadway, at 1400 Broadway Street NE.

Federal Funding Available for Local Non-Profits and For-Profit Developers

November 15, 2019

Beginning November 20, eligible non-profits and for-profit developers in Salem and Keizer can submit proposals for approximately $1,400,000 in City of Salem Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership programs funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Applications will also be accepted for approximately $400,000 from the City’s funds designated for supportive services.
