Readers and listeners (ages 0 - 18) are invited to read books from a variety of non-fiction categories in March, and earn a free book to keep in April. No registration is necessary. Simply print out a copy of the March into Non-Fiction reading log, find a few good non-fiction titles, and begin reading!

Police Station Transportation Improvements

February 21, 2020

Beginning Monday, March 2, 2020, Liberty Street NE between Division Street NE and the Mill Creek bridge will be temporarily closed to all through traffic (see attached map). The northbound lane on Liberty Street NE will re-open in early April. Pedestrians and motorists are asked to use caution and plan for some delays as traffic is re-routed toward High Street NE and Commercial Street NE.

Final Public Workshop Planned for Eagle’s View Park Master Plan

February 20, 2020

Join us Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the third Eagle’s View Park public visioning workshop at Roth’s West Salem, Founder’s Room ‘N’, at 6:30 p.m. The presentation of the preferred alternative plan design represents a culmination of input received from the neighbors at the first two public visioning workshops and two online surveys. There will still be opportunities to participate in this process as the preferred design moves through the planning process to adoption. The next steps after the public workshop is to present the plan to the West Salem Neighborhood Association, the Salem Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and then to City Council for formal adoption.
