Our Salem Vision Goes to City Council March 8

We're bringing the Our Salem Vision back to the City Council on Monday, March 8 after it was postponed in February.

This is a check in with City Council - a request to accept the high-level Vision, so work can continue on the Our Salem project. The Vision is the result of more than a year and a half of community engagement.

You can view the City Council meeting online on the CC:Media YouTube channel or on CC:Media channel 21.

You can read the updated Our Salem Vision for future growth and development on the project website. The Vision includes broad goals and a map that depict how the community wants the Salem area to grow. You can use the Our Salem interactive map to see what changes are proposed for specific properties.

What's next?

If the Vision is accepted, it will be used as the foundation of the future update to the Salem Comprehensive Plan. We will begin work on the finer details of the Our Salem project. This includes developing and revising Comprehensive Plan policies as well as Salem’s zoning code and zoning map.

We plan to bring all of this work - the updated Comprehensive Plan, zoning code, and zoning map - through an adoption process by the end of this year. That adoption process will include public hearings.
