The City of Salem is asking for input on play equipment for a new playground at Secor Park. A public open house is set for Thursday, September 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Crossler Middle School. Come pick from several playground components and concepts. Children are welcome - bring the kids to help choose play equipment. Your feedback will be used to make a final selection. Check out the event flier for more details.
Secor Park is an approximately 8.5-acre, undeveloped neighborhood park located next to Crossler Middle School at 5555 Stockton Avenue S.
The City is making improvements to the park following City Council's adoption of an updated park master plan in August 2019. These improvements will be completed in phases. The first phase will be constructed soon and is expected to include the playground and a bridge across Waln Creek, paved paths, benches and picnic tables, and entry plazas. Fees collected from Parks System Development Charges will fund this work.
