Pringle Park and Pringle Community Hall

A 4.4-acre wooded park in downtown Salem, Pringle Park sits next to Salem Hospital and Pringle Creek. The park features walking paths, picnic tables, and benches.

Located off Church Street SE, this parking lot is reserved for “park users only,” including drop-in and reservation use. Additional parking is available on Church Street SE. There is one handicapped parking space in the parking lot off of Church Street SE. There is an additional handicapped parking space on the east side of Pringle Community Hall that can be accessed from Winter Street SE, through the north entrance to Hospital Building B. There is space for one service delivery vehicle on the east side of Pringle Community Hall that can also be accessed through the north entrance to Hospital Building B on Winter Street SE.
There are many picnic tables throughout the park and several tables together near Pringle Community Hall; perfect for larger groups and get-togethers.

Pringle Community Hall

Pringle Community Hall, located on the Pringle Park grounds, is the only reservable indoor facility in any City park. It features a large activity room, a smaller meeting room, and a kitchen with a serving area.

You can reserve Pringle Community Hall by filling out a Facility Use Permit and Agreement with the Public Works Department.

You can make reservations a minimum of two weeks, to a maximum of one year in advance. All fees must be paid in full when the application form is submitted.

Pringle Community Hall is available from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Reservations beginning before 9:00 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m. must accept the Hall in an “as is” condition. Those who have reserved the activity room will have primary use of the kitchen and its facilities.

Pringle Hall operates on a key checkout system for those using the building. Users must pick up the key from the Public Works Department (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) the day of the scheduled use, or Friday for weekend use. The key must be returned by 12:00 p.m. the day after the reservation, or by 12:00 p.m. on Monday after a weekend event. If the key is not returned, you may be charged the cost of rekeying all doors in the facility.

  • Alcohol (14% alcohol content or less) is permitted, but requires prior approval and must be indicated on the application form. $50.00 fee applies. Kegs or pony kegs are not allowed.
  • State and local laws prohibit smoking in public facilities, including Pringle Hall and Pringle Park.
  • Tables and chairs are located in the storage room off the activity room. Table and chair setup and take down is the responsibility of the user. Tables/chairs may not be taken outside the building.
  • Tents/awnings may be approved outside facility, but additional fees and permits may apply.
  • Amplified sound is permitted inside the hall only, and requires prior approval, completion of a Sound Permit Application, and payment of a $32.50 fee.
  • Candles or combustible materials are not allowed inside or outside the building.
  • Throwing of rice, bird seed, confetti, or rose petals is not permitted.

  • Remove all garbage from the hall and place in cans in the outside garbage enclosure

  • Return the key to the Public Works Department office within 24 hours of facility use

Any special cleanup or damage costs will be billed to the user.

The City of Salem provides basic cleanup daily before 9:00 a.m. A late afternoon check on the condition of the building is also provided. Please leave the facility as clean as it was when you arrived.

Paper towels, cleaning supplies, dust mop, broom, bucket, and wet mop are available in the supply cabinet.
