Salem continues to lead the Mid-Willamette Valley's economy. Oregon's Employment Department reported in June 2019 that Salem is leading the metro areas in job growth. Our commitment to helping local businesses is found in our regulatory assistance, financial incentives, and business outreach.
"The City of Salem offers a variety of services to make locating and expanding in our community easier for businesses including streamlined and expedited permitting, development liaison assistance, competitive development fees and utility costs, and financial incentives ," City of Salem Economic Development Manager Annie Gorski said.
Recently, Liv Foods Inc., maker of LivBars®, an all organic superfood, nutrition and energy bar made in Salem, Oregon, announced a national distribution partnership with KeHE Distributors, the second largest distributor of natural and gourmet food products. Liv Bar's new CEO connected with the company at a Start-up Salem sponsored Brew Talks event and they have been growing ever since. The City has been working with LivBar since 2016, including helping them access to new markets, assisting with regulatory questions, and helping find a new building for expansion.
