Seniors & Center 50+

An important part of staying healthy as you age is staying engaged physically and socially. The City of Salem along with concerned citizens, and the 501(c)3 nonprofit Friends of Center 50+, collaborated to create Center 50+ as a non-membership community center providing programs and services to adults age 50 and older. Other programs throughout the City provide help in specialized areas.

Social Participation in an Age-Friendly Community—Forum and Discussion on January 17

On January 17, from 2–5 p.m. at Center 50+, the City will host a panel discussion and community resource fair on Social Participation for Salem’s older adults. This will be the second in a series of meetings discussing livability in Salem. Residents are encouraged to attend and participate. A free spaghetti dinner is offered for all participants.
