If you are PreK-grade 5, it's time to show off your amazing creativity! Create your own original masterpiece, take a picture, and submit it for entry in Salem Public Library's online gallery. Submissions will be accepted through August 15. The gallery will be made available on our Facebook and Instagram social media platforms September 7. A link to the gallery will also be e-mailed to participants.

Teen and Adult Art Contest

Teen and adult artists are invited to submit images of original artwork this summer. We welcome art of all kinds—painting, digital art, photography, sculpture, textiles, drawing, papercrafts, calligraphy… whatever art you create. You should submit a well-lit, clear photo of your art creation to be considered.

Entries will be accepted  through August 15. A panel of highly qualified judges will narrow each category to a Top Ten. Public voting in later August will determine the final standings.

Cash prizes will be awarded in each category: $50 for first place; $20 for second place; and $10 for third place.

Review and download complete rules and links for submissions. Each category has a special link when you are ready to submit:

Prizes are sponsored by the Friends of Salem Public Library and the Salem Public Library Foundation.
