Storytimes at the Library

Children listening to story

Salem Public Library has closed its physical locations. Patrons are asked to keep materials at home until they reopen. Staff will remain available via phone, provide virtual reference and information services (e-books, movies, etc.).  A new date for storytimes to resume will be announced here as it becomes available. Check the City's COVID-19 information center for all City service impacts.

Early literacy-rich storytimes are fun ways for families to help their babies, toddlers, and preschoolers get ready to learn to read when they start elementary school.

We miss seeing you in the library, but we are still here for you online. Families with toddlers and preschoolers are invited to join Youth Services staff for special LIVE storytimes online.  Sign up to receive a Zoom invitation.

New recorded storytimes are published on the library's Facebook page each Saturday in English and Thursday in Spanish. Visit our Youtube playlist to view previous storytimes.

Visit our Early Literacy Blog for more stories, songs, fingerplays, and activities.
