Summer Reading Club Wraps Up August 15 and 16

Summer Reading Club is wrapping up at Salem Public Library.

​Some important deadlines and opportunities are coming up for Salem Public Library Summer Reading Club participants.

Readers of all ages:

  • Last day to submit online prize drawing tickets—Thursday, August 8. Visit the Summer Reading Club page to see a list of available prizes.
  • Prize winners announced—Thursday, August 15

Readers from preschool to grade 5:

  • A Galaxy of Fun End-of-Summer Party – 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, August 15 in Peace Plaza. Summer Reading Club members (preschoolers to grade 5) who finished and reported at least 10 hours of reading/listening are invited to enjoy games, prizes, food, and other outdoor fun. Note: The prize bookstore opens at 10 a.m. in Anderson Rooms A&B.

Readers from 6th-12th grade:

  • A Universe of Stories End-of-Summer Teen Party—7-9 p.m. Friday, August 16 in Teen Scene and Floor 1. Summer Reading Club members of middle or high school-age who reported 20+ hours of reading are invited (along with a friend, also of middle or high school age) to this after-hours party with activities, crafts, games, music, movies, snacks, and other fun. This party is also the first chance for 20+ hour readers to choose the free book they earned. Note: This event is after hours. Partygoers should use the Teen Scene entrance, facing Salem City Hall.

Readers from preschool to 12th grade:

  • Last day to pick up bags and prize books—Sunday, September 8
