Four outstanding local acts will come together for an amazing night of music at the 2018 Uniquely Original Singer/Songwriter Showcase in December. Each performer shares a 20-minute set of original music beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, December 7 in Loucks Auditorium at Salem Public Library, 585 Liberty St. SE. The show is free on a first-come, first-seated basis.
Featured acts are:
- Tennison Shetler, a folk/pop singer who has been writing and performing for more than 20 years. He spent more than a decade performing in Nashville, Tenn. and has released two independent albums.
- Dan Lowe and the Skeletal Remains, an award-winning songwriter and performer who has been named Portland's Performing Songwriter of the Year. His roots/Americana style is an interwoven blend of many influences.
- Ruben, a 17-year-old self-taught alternative pop artist with a dream of connecting with others through his music. He has been performing since age 14 and has released an EP called Repeating.
- Matt Carmichael, performing an eclectic mix of rock, blues, country, soul, and more. Matt is a librarian, archivist, public historian, writer, and musician who recently returned to his hometown and is excited to share his music with family and friends.
Salem Public Library's Teen Advisory Board will offer concessions at the event. Through a partnership with CCTV, the show will be filmed and aired later on CCTV channels. The concert is sponsored by Friends of Salem Public Library and wraps up the library's Fall Concert Series.
