​You can help the young people in our community to develop their skills and interests. The City of Salem is committed to investing in the next generation. Through direct support and partnership, the City provides recreation activities, service learning opportunities, and other programs for the young people of Salem and their families.

Children's Educational Theater presents an adaptation of the C.S. Lewis classic: "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." Free tickets will be available at 10 a.m. the day of the performance at the Children's Ask Here Desk. Doors open 15 minutes prior to the show. Tickets become invalid 10 minutes before the performance and empty seats are made available to others.

An afterschool drop-in program. Kids in grades 2–5 with an adult are invited to check out Tinker Tech kits for 30-minute sessions each Friday afternoon for use in the library. There are a limited number of kits available and are first-come, first reserved. A library card is required.
