Past Due or Shutoff Utility Services

Utility Bill Due Date

Utility bills are due 25 days after the billed date. If your payment is not received by the 25th day, on the 26th day or the next business day, a past due reminder notice is mailed to the customer providing an additional 7 days to pay the past due balance.

If payment is not received within those 7 days, you will receive a past due letter indicating potential service shutoff or referral to collections will be mailed. This notice will specify a payment deadline. Failure to pay by this date may result in service shutoff and/or referral of the past due balance to a collection agency.

Shutoff for Nonpayment

If your water service has been shutoff for nonpayment, service will only be restored when:

  • The past due balance is paid in full, and
  •  All associated fees are paid in full.

Payment Options for Restoring Service

Please do not mail your payment if your water service has been shut off. To have your service turned back on the same day, the City must receive your payment by 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Payment received after this time will be processed the next business day, depending on whether service is off, locked, or meter has been pulled.
