Salem Public Library staff have created a helpful list to connect individuals and families in the Salem area with local and national support services. Below is an overview of these resources.

A free resource for parents of children ages birth to five years old to receive needed support from a trained child development professional for child behavior issues, tips to help your child build skills, and ways to make parenting less stressful.

Food Finder
The Oregon Food Bank provides a searchable database to help locate free groceries, meals, or places to double your SNAP EBT benefits.

Immigrationhelp.org
This organization offers free legal assistance to low-income immigrants for preparing immigration applications. Their team includes lawyers and technologists.

Legal Aid Services of Oregon
This nonprofit provides free legal services to low-income individuals and seniors. Offices are located throughout the state, including Salem.

Liberty House
Liberty House is a child abuse assessment center serving children ages 0–18 in Marion and Polk counties. They provide trauma-informed counseling for individuals and families.

Marion Polk Food Share
This organization distributes food to meal sites, food pantries, and senior housing locations across the Mid-Willamette Valley. Visit their website and click the "Get Help" tab for information in English and Spanish about nearby food resources.

Mid-Valley Resources Guide
This guide connects Salem and surrounding communities to local services. It includes information on emergency financial assistance, medical services, legal help, housing support, food assistance, and more.

Oregon Family Support Network
This network connects families and caregivers to education, advocacy, support groups, training, emotional support, and mental health resources. It is a community-driven organization.

Oregon State Bar Association
The Oregon State Bar provides legal information and helps connect individuals with lawyers or legal resources. While recommended lawyers may not offer free services, they can refer you to organizations that provide free legal aid.

Oregon Department of Human Services
Self-sufficiency offices offer assistance with food benefits (SNAP), cash for families (TANF), childcare, refugee services, domestic violence support, and more.

Oregon Consumer Protection
The Oregon Department of Justice helps with consumer complaints and education. Their website is available in multiple languages, including Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

Oregon Housing and Community Services
This resource provides links and information about rental assistance, tenant rights, utility bill help, and other housing-related support.

Youth Emergency Housing and Drop-In
Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action offers services and programs for youth, including a day shelter with drop-in services and an overnight emergency shelter. These programs provide a safe space for immediate needs and long-term growth.
