Overview
Are you looking for a speaker for a Lunch-and-Learn event, an employee meeting, or an Earth Day presentation? The City of Salem offers presentations on the Clean Streams Initiative to meet your business needs. A member of the Clean Streams Team will come to speak about important topics such as rainfall statistics in Salem, common sources of stream pollution and actions that everyone can take at home and in their business to reduce pollution in local streams.
Importance of the Presentation
This informative presentation will explain how pollution harms streams and aquatic life. It will also provide practical steps we can all take to help protect local streams.

Annual Trainings
Erosion Control & Stormwater Management Summit
The City of Salem partners with the Mid-Willamette Outreach Group to offer an annual training on erosion control, best management practices and stormwater related topics. The summit takes place in January and is a valuable training opportunity for home builders, developers, engineers, architects, landscapers, construction contractors and municipal staff. Navigating the Stormwater Landscape Workshop
The City of Salem provides an annual workshop for landscape professionals on stormwater basics, green stormwater infrastructure, stormwater filtration facility inspections and streamside maintenance. This workshop takes place in the fall and is a valuable training opportunity for in-the-field landscape staff. Continuing education credits are available. Get EcoBiz Certified
The City of Salem Clean Streams Initiative is partnering with EcoBiz to bring the eco-friendly business certification program to Salem. This new program will begin in January 2026 and is offered to automotive and landscaping businesses in Salem. Show your commitment to green business practices and protecting the environment by getting EcoBiz certified. Find more information about the program on the EcoBiz website.
Grant Funding
Salem residents, including businesses, are eligible to receive grant funding to assist with projects that help improve the health of local watersheds. Visit the Watershed Protection and Preservation Grant webpage for details.
