Apply for Water Conservation or Wastewater Pretreatment Grant Program
The City of Salem Public Works Department administers grant programs under Salem Revised Codes (SRC) 72.230 and 74.190 to incentivize the reduction of water consumption and decrease wastewater demands on the City's treatment facilities.
Water Conservation Grant Program
The Water Conservation grant program aims to:

Decrease water demand.

Maximize the life of existing water supply facilities.

Postpone the need for developing new treatment and transmission facilities.

Ensure proper management of our water resources.
Wastewater Pretreatment Grant Program
The Pretreatment grant program is designed to assist industrial and institutional sewer users in developing systems that reduce wastewater flows, solids, and biological oxygen demand (BOD) loadings to the Willow Lake Wastewater Treatment Facility.
Application Information
Information provided in the Water Conservation or Sewer Pretreatment Grant Program Application will be used to evaluate requests for participatory funding for capital construction of defined facilities. These facilities should be cost-effective methods of reducing the amount of City water discharged to the Willow Lake Water Pollution Control Facility.
