Clean Streams, Clear Choices Initiative
Nearly 90 miles of streams run through the City of Salem. These streams add beauty to our community and provide homes for wildlife. They also offer places for recreation. Local streams are essential to the City's stormwater system. Everyone in our community plays a role in keeping them healthy and beautiful.
Clean Streams, Clear Choices
The City of Salem created the Clean Streams, Clear Choices Initiative to educate residents on how to make choices that reduce water pollution. Stormwater runoff does not go to a treatment plant. Instead, it flows directly into local streams. These pollutants can harm water quality and aquatic life in local streams.
Below is more information on how you can help keep local streams clean and reduce pollution.
