- Submit the Annual Hazardous Waste Report: The team prepares and sends a report each year to keep track of hazardous waste activities.
- Develop the Toxic Use Reduction Plan: They create a plan to reduce the use of toxic substances in the community.
- Maintain the Hazardous Waste Management Contingency Plan: This plan outlines steps to take in case of an emergency involving hazardous waste.
Additional Responsibilities
The team also has other important duties, including:
- Acting as a Radiological Officer: They ensure safety when handling radiological materials.
- Managing the Radiological Materials License: The team oversees the license needed to work with radiological materials.
- Maintaining Radiological Monitoring Equipment: They keep equipment in good condition to monitor radiation levels.
- Performing RCRA Notifications: The team follows regulations under 40 CFR Part 261 to notify authorities about hazardous waste activities.
These actions help ensure a safer environment for everyone in our community.
