Model rockets are a fun and educational hobby, but they must be used safely to avoid property damage and injuries. To ensure safety, you must obtain a Model Rocket Launching Permit from the Salem Fire Department before launching rockets.

The Salem Fire Department may revoke authorization to use a firing area immediately if it determines that the activity poses an undue hazard.

To apply for a permit:

1. Download and complete the permit application
2. Get written permission from the property owner of the proposed launch site
3. Send your completed application to the Salem Fire Department
4. Call the Salem Fire Department to schedule a review of your application
