The Salem Police Department recently completed an an extensive review, update, and reorganization of all its policies and procedures to ensure they incorporate current and best law enforcement standards and practices, as well as meet state and federal laws and regulations.
The publication of police policies and procedures enables our community to understand the standards and expectations of the Salem Police Department from its entire staff, both sworn and professional.
The policy manual
The PDF below contains all Salem Police Department policies. The file contains a message from Salem Police Chief Trevor Womack, as well as the more than 200 policies categorized into ten chapters.
Search and review
The manual's table of contents helps the reader identify policies by name. Policy titles in the table of contents have active hyperlinks, that when clicked, quickly take the reader to the specific page.

A topics index is also available at the end of the manual.
Updates
The document file will be periodically updated to reflect any revisions to the manual resulting from newly implemented policies or changes to existing policies.
