Online Crime Reporting: Helping Keep Salem Safe

The Salem Police Department is working to build trust and a sense of fairness in our community. The online reporting system allows you to report non-emergency crimes—those that don’t involve an immediate threat or crisis. Using this tool helps keep you safe and allows officers to focus on urgent cases.

When you file a report online, you help us track crime patterns in Salem. This information is vital for us to develop effective strategies that address community concerns and allocate resources where they are needed most.

We believe in the principles of procedural justice, which stress fairness, transparency, and working with the community. Your report matters—it helps everyone feel heard and respected.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe!
