Donations

You can donate to Salem parks and leave a legacy for the benefit of future generations through the City of Salem and the Salem Park Foundation.

All gifts are tax deductible and allow individuals or groups to designate donations to enhance and improve the park system. Donations can be made in honor of a person or group. Donations can also be made to celebrate or recognize special occasions.

If you or your organization donates to a park, we will send a letter of appreciation. If the donation was offered in memory or honor of someone else, we will also send a letter of appreciation for a keepsake.

General Cash Donations

Cash donations not specified for a specific park will be placed in the Parks Donation Fund to be allocated at a future date through the budget process.

Salem Parks Foundation

Gifts donated to the Salem Parks Foundation can be designated for a specific park or program, or can be unspecified. Charitable gifts include, but are not limited to:

• Cash donations
• Life insurance gifts
• Gifts of real estate
• Appreciated stocks and bonds

Other Options for Donation

• Playground equipment
• Trees and shrub planting
• Facility improvement projects
• Memorial benches
• Tree planting
• Mutt-mitt dispensers
• Drinking fountains
