Several vacant airport properties, located near Interstate 5 and Oregon Highway 22E, are available to lease for private hangar development.

Private hangar development site options include airfield access to accommodate a variety of aircraft sizes.

Parcels of land up to 30 acres are available.

Commercial/Industrial Property

Several vacant airport properties, located near Interstate 5 and Oregon Highway 22E, are available to lease for commercial/industrial development.

Site options include airfield and non-airfield access.

Parcels of up to 25 acres are available.

The Airport Master Plan is a long-term strategic document that guides the development of airport land and facilities. Its primary goal is to ensure that the Salem-Willamette Valley Airport (SLE) is prepared to meet future demands while following Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards and addressing local community needs. The Master Plan will recommend future improvements aimed at enhancing operational safety, addressing airport user needs, supporting community economic development goals, and building financial resiliency.

Airport Rules and Regulations

These rules and regulations have been adopted by ordinance by the Salem City Council. The Salem City Council has authority to adopt amendments, additions, deletions or corrections to these Airport Rules and Regulations. The provisions of this document are intended for the safe, orderly and efficient operation of the Airport.

Hangar and Aircraft Insurance Requirements

Airport tenants are required by their lease agreements and Chapter 9 of the Salem Revised Code (SRC) to maintain a minimum level of insurance. Coverage limits depend on the category of operation that the leaseholder is conducting at the airport. These can be found in SRC 9 Appendix I.

In addition to providing liability insurance, the lessee, concessionaire, or licensee must agree to indemnify and hold the City harmless from any claims or liabilities related to their lease, concession agreement, or license.

• The certificate of insurance must contain indemnification language naming “the City of Salem, its Officers, Employees, and Agents” as additional insured.

• The City of Salem must also be listed as the certificate holder with the following information:

• Certificate must include the hangar or building number.
